Get to Know Our Wonderful Team

Our team consists of about 15 people, and most of them have been working alongside Dr. Bowden for 15 years or longer! There aren’t many local pediatric dentists and orthodontists in El Paso who can say the same, and we’re incredibly grateful for the passion and kindness that they bring to the office. Our team really takes ownership of our practice and truly care; for them, it’s more than a job. We invite you to learn more about our fantastic team by reading their short biographies below.

Dawn

Office Manager & Financial Coordinator

Dawn has been working alongside Dr. Bowden for her entire 35-year career in the dental field and is our trusted and extremely knowledgeable office manager. For her, the best thing about working at Dr. Bowden’s office is all of the relationships she gets to build. She has seen patients since they were little, watched them grow into adults, and are now seeing her past-patients’ children! She thinks it’s so great to be a significant part of their lives and help them build confidence in their smiles.

Dawn has lived in El Paso since she was seven years old and has raised her fur-family here! She has six dogs, four cats, and a bunny! Whenever she isn’t at the practice, you can find her spending time with her dogs and hanging out with friends, going to the movies, watching NASCAR, and cheering on her favorite sports teams (the Longhorns, Rangers, and Denver Broncos!). An interesting fact about Dawn is that she has her bachelor’s degree in management and computer information systems and master’s degree in library information science.

Sylvia

Financial & Treatment Coordinator

Sylvia has been in the dental field for over 45 years, with over 25 of those spent right here at Jim Bowden, DDS. Her favorite part of her career is being able to meet new people every day and educate patients about their dental health. In addition to her decades of hands-on experience in general dentistry, oral surgery, and orthodontics, Sylvia is also CPR-certified.

Sylvia is proud to live in El Paso with her partner of over 35 years and their amazing daughter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and listening to music. She’s been fortunate enough to travel the world with her family and has been a part of some exciting music venues while managing her husband’s musical career. She’s also been on dental missions to Mexico, where she helped the Tarahumara community.

Priscilla

Insurance Coordinator & Dental Assistant

Priscilla has been working alongside Dr. Bowden for over a decade and considers him The Best Dentist in El Paso! One of the parts of her job that she loves the most is being able to build a rapport with patients and their parents to help them feel comfortable and excited about coming back. She’s a licensed dental assistant and graduate of Kaplan College. She also regularly takes continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest advancements.

Priscilla lives in El Paso with her husband and their two beautiful girls. She enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and going on road trips whenever she isn’t working. She’s also a creative and artistic person, so she enjoys helping her girls with their school projects!

Cindy

New Patient Coordinator & Dental & Orthodontic Assistant

For over 15 years, Cindy has been an integral part of our team as a new patient coordinator as well as a dental and orthodontic assistant. She enjoys working alongside such wonderful patients as well as making great memories with Dr. Bowden and her coworkers. She is a registered dental assistant and has her certifications for radiology and nitrous oxide from Computer Career Center.

Originally from Oceanside, California, Cindy is glad to have called El Paso her home for nearly two decades now. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family, reading, listening to music, and walking her dogs. She’s an animal lover through and through, and at one point had 14 animals!

Jacqueline

Front Office

Jacqueline has been at the practice for about two decades and to this day her favorite part of her career is meeting new people and providing the best customer service. She attended Career Centers of Texas in El Paso and is a licensed dental assistant and notary, and she’s CPR-certified.

Jacqueline calls El Paso home with her husband and son. She enjoys watching her son play baseball and any chance she gets, she likes to travel to Disney at least once or twice a year! An interesting fact about Jacqueline is that never in a million years did she see herself and her husband running a baseball team!

Marcy

Registered Dental Hygienist

Marcy has been an important member of our team for over 14 years, and we’re glad to have her! She enjoys educating children about their dental health in a fun and supportive way and finds it so rewarding to help her patients build good habits that will last a lifetime. She’s a graduate of El Paso Community College and has her certifications in dental assisting and radiology, as well as her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.

Marcy was born and raised in El Paso and married her high school sweetheart. Together, they’re the proud parents of three daughters, and she loves spending time with them, as well as with her grandson. Whenever she isn’t at work, Marcy enjoys baking, especially during the holidays, and most of her weekends are spent in the gym or traveling to her girls’ basketball games or tournaments. An interesting fact about Marcy is that she’s an identical twin! She also loves all things cozy and likes to stay organized.

Patty

Registered Dental Hygienist

Patty’s extensive career spans over three decades, and she has spent over two of them right here at Jim Bowden, DDS. Her favorite part of her career is promoting good dental hygiene habits and helping kids feel confident about their smiles. She’s a graduate of El Paso Community College, where she earned her certificate in dental assisting as well as her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.

Patty is from El Paso, where she lives with her husband of over 30 years and their three grown sons. In her free time, she enjoys reading and taking walks early in the morning. An interesting fact about her is that she has an eye for interior design!

Erika

Registered Dental Hygienist

We’re glad to have Erika and her 10+ years of experience on our team! She has been with the practice for over a year now, and she loves having the ability to make a meaningful impact on her patients’ oral and overall health. She likes to spend time educating her patients on how to properly brush and floss their teeth and seeing how their skills progress over time! She also values the relationship she gets to build with all of her patients as well as being able to work alongside such a wonderful team and dentist. Erika earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from El Paso Community College and has her certifications in diode laser use and nitrous oxide monitoring.

Erika calls El Paso home along with her husband and their two fur-babies. Together, they love spending time with their nieces and nephew, who bring plenty of laughter and joy into their lives! Whenever Erika isn’t at the office, you can find her working on renovating her home, baking, binge-watching movies, cuddling with her dogs, and attending her nieces’ baseball and soccer games. She also enjoys playing board games with her family and trying new restaurants. An interesting fact about Erika is that she once saved a child’s life performing CPR!
