Dr. Bowden was born and raised in El Paso and had his heart set on raising his family here too! He truly loves his community, and it shows through his 35-year career and experience treating generations of families. He strives to provide the highest quality of care and is the only dual-trained specialist in El Paso, having completed extensive training in both pediatric dentistry as well as orthodontics. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Bowden was always interested in going into the medical field, but he decided that the dental field was the right choice for him when he was in college.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Bowden attended UT – El Paso for his undergraduate studies and UT Health Science Center – San Antonio for dental school and his residency in pediatric dentistry. He then went on to attend the University of Texas Dental School in Houston for his specialty training in orthodontics. Dr. Bowden is board-eligible in both specialties, allowing him to provide outstanding care to growing smiles as well as orthodontic treatment for kids, teens, and adults alike.

Dr. Bowden stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics by remaining an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Academy of Orthodontists.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Bowden was born and raised in El Paso and is proud to have spent most of his life here. He’s been married to his wonderful wife, Karen, for over 31 years. Together, they have a daughter who they’re incredibly proud of, Cambell, who is a private mental health counselor and sports performance therapist.

Dr. Bowden has a long history in El Paso and was a member of the only El Paso high school basketball team to ever win the Texas State Basketball Championship. In 2022, he was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame. Today, he stays competitive by running in marathons and IRONMAN triathlons.
